Hundreds of thousands of Yemeni people have on Saturday taken to the ab al-Yemen Square in Sana’a in order to commemorate and celebrate the fifth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution under the banner of Freedom and Independence.
Participants carried banners, freedom slogans and pictures of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi.
They chanted “The slogan of the Sarkha [“cry”, referring to the Ansarullah slogan of revolutionary struggle] in the face of the arrogant ones was the beginning of the road to a cultural, intellectual and social corrective revolution.”
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, member of the Supreme Political Council, said during his speech, warned against Saudi Arabia’s rejection of President of Yemen Mahdi Al-Mashat’s initiative to stop attacks on Yemen in exchange for Yemen stopping all forms of retaliation strikesagainst the kingdom.
“If they do not stop [attacking us], we will hurt them more, and we will not give up,” he said. “We have the determination and the decision power, and we can strike anywhere . The development of out military capabilities continues,” he said.
Al-Houthi furthermore affirmed that the Republican system will continue to be the system of governance in Yemen, and that the democratic approach is the approach the Yemenis aspire to.
“We are now in an exceptional situation, where we need to maintain our revolutionary consciousness and revolutionary interaction,” al-Houthi said. “Yemenis do not need the recognition of their power by the countries of aggression. It is enough for us to know that our people with our own strength can deter the aggression.”
He stressed that the Yemeni people reject subservience and arrogance, and reminded everyone that before the Revolution, Yemen suffered a great deal. “We have fought for truth and justice, and we still are doing so,” he added.
Mohammed al-Houthi called on political movements to carry out a general reconciliation that unites the Yemeni people, and to be on guard against conspiracies that seek to divide the unity of the Republic of Yemen.
“Our people are the fuel and flame of the Revolution, and will remain the very essence of it. God willing, we will continue to do everything possible to work toward the success of the Revolution,” he concluded
