-The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the US authorities’ violent response to pro-Palestinian protests violates US laws on freedom of expression.

At a news conference, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that US authorities have used force to disperse protesters and remove tents.

Zakharova explained that this behavior violates the rights to freedoms, expression and freedom of assembly in the United States, and violates the United States’ international obligations.

Zakharova emphasized that these events highlight the double standards of U.S. foreign policy, and perhaps the absence of standards, as the United States prefers to support protesters abroad but uses repression against protesters at home.

US universities have seen escalating protests against the Zionist war on Gaza, and sit-ins have been violently countered, with reports of widespread arrests.

US police have dispersed student protests at several universities and arrested a large number of students across the country, drawing criticism from human rights groups.
