Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Ahmed Amer met on Saturday with the French Doctors of the World’s Country Director, Muhammad Qalamouni.
During the meeting, Minister Amer received a briefing on the activities of Doctors of the World in Yemen, which focus on health care and providing essential medical assistance.
He emphasized the importance of the organization expanding its activities in Yemen, given the urgent need for aid, particularly in the field of mental health.
Minister Amer also pointed out that recent reforms in government operations have streamlined procedures and reduced unnecessary bureaucracy. This, he noted, allows international organizations to implement their humanitarian and development projects more effectively in Yemen, though coordination with the relevant ministries remains essential.
For his part, French Doctors of the World’s Country Director, Muhammad Qalamouni, explained that the organization continues to carry out its humanitarian mission.
He also stated that the organization is currently searching for new funding sources for its humanitarian projects in Yemen.
