Palestine Maternity and Childhood Hospital in the Capital Sana’a is keen to provide the best medical, therapeutic and diagnostic services to citizens around the clock.
The efforts made by the hospital’s leadership and staff during the past period have resulted in achieving a qualitative leap in the level of medical services, implementing development projects and expanding a number of departments and specialties, which prompted more citizens to flock to the hospital to benefit from its various services.
The development and improvement operations in the hospital and the various services it provides in various departments and medical specialties come in implementation of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the directives of the Supreme Political Council and the program of the Government of Change and Construction to advance the health sector and improve medical care services for patients.
A report issued by the hospital stated that 342,221 cases benefited from the medical, therapeutic and health care services provided by the hospital’s departments during the year 2024.
The report indicated that outpatient clinics provided medical services to 26,434 cases of children, women and men, in medical consultations, maternity and child care, internal medicine, dermatology, surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology and dentistry.
It stated that 235,055 cases benefited from laboratory tests and the blood bank, ten thousand and 662 cases benefited from the emergency department, 11,299 from radiology services, 1,596 cases from electrocardiography, 9,821 cases from television rays and 1,608 cases from echo.
According to the report, the reproductive health and maternity department provided medical services to 5,795 natural births, while 4,220 surgeries were performed in the operating department, and the hospitalization departments received 9,205 patients.
It stated that 22,376 children received vaccination and inoculation services for the six childhood diseases, and 79 women were immunized, while the therapeutic nutrition clinic provided medical services to 345 children and women, and the counseling clinic provided 1,570 consultations for the care of pregnant and lactating women and family planning.
The report indicated that the hospital recorded the birth of 106 twins during the past year, including one case of triplets.. noting that 247 cases were discharged from ventilators after recovering.
Director of Palestine Hospital, Dr. Nada al-Wajman, stated that development and expansion projects were implemented in the nursery, intensive care for children, women’s care, and hospitalization for children and women, which contributed significantly to improving health care for patients.
Al-Wajman explained that the implemented projects also included digging a well for the hospital, building a room and an oxygen plant, and building a rest room for obstetric emergency doctors.
Dr. al-Wajman pointed out that new devices were introduced in several departments, including a C-arm device for major operations, a modern anesthesia device, in addition to purchasing a microscope for eardrum patching so that surgeons can perform eardrum patching surgery.
She praised the great efforts made by all hospital workers, and their keenness to provide the best services to patients and work to develop performance and overcome the difficulties facing the workflow.
