General Electricity Corporation (GEC) clarified that the targeting of the Haiz and Dhahban power stations and the Asr substation resulted, in addition to the material damage currently being assessed, in the injury of eight technicians working at the stations, who were taken to hospitals.
The GEC noted that the targeting of these civilian facilities, which affect the lives of millions of Yemenis, underscores the criminal nature of the Zionist entity and its allies, who seek to deepen the suffering of the Yemeni people as collective punishment for their national and pan-Arab stance in support of Palestine and the people of Gaza, who are being subjected to genocide, starvation, and displacement by this criminal enemy.
The GEC affirmed that these attacks will not deter it from continuing to serve the people, indicating that its technical teams are currently working to extinguish the fires and salvage what can be saved, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The GEC stated that detailed reports on the extent of the damage will be issued once the assessment is complete, and that technical and engineering teams are working in parallel to restore service and restore electricity supply as soon as possible.
The Foundation also affirmed its full support for all options offered by the Yemeni Armed Forces in responding to this crime and in continuing its military support operations for our brothers in Palestine. The most recent of these was the heroic strikes targeting the Zionist Lod Airport and the announcement of the closure of its airspace, a clear message that the blood of Yemenis will not be shed without deterrence.
The statement concluded by saying, “The Yemeni people, no matter how heavy the price they pay in confronting the American-British-Israeli aggression, will not cease to support Palestinian rights, and they will not be intimidated by the bombs of the Zionists and their agents.”
