India, Pakistan Agree To ‘Full And Immediate Ceasefire’

India and Pakistan have agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire”, US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday in a post on Truth Social after a “long night” of talks mediated by the United States.

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both countries for using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The announcement comes days after rising escalations between India and Pakistan after an attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam claimed 26 lives last month.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also announced that a ceasefire agreement has been reached between the two neighboring nations.

“Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity!” he tweeted.

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Vice President JD Vance and him engaged with senior officials of the neighboring countries for the last two days to reach this decision. Rubio also said that the governments will start talks on a “broad set of issues” at a neutral site.
