On International Workers’ Day: A Central March In Paris In Support Of Palestine

The French capital, Paris, witnessed a central march on Thursday, organized by the General Confederation of Workers, to mark International Workers’ Day, during which Palestinian flags and banners were raised.

According to the Palestinian News Agency, the march, which was attended by hundreds of thousands of French people, witnessed a historic act of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Palestinian flags and keffiyehs were raised amid chants rejecting the genocide being committed by the enemy army, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

Slogans calling for freedom and independence also demanded an end to the occupation and a boycott of the Zionist enemy and the companies that support it.

Sophie Bennett, Secretary-General of the French General Confederation of Labor, said: “On this day, International Workers’ Day, we not only celebrate the struggle of workers for their rights and social justice, but also express our deep commitment to human values in the face of genocide and international silence.”

She added, “Our stand today with the Palestinian people, especially the residents of Gaza, who are facing the most horrific crimes against civilians, is a natural extension of our union struggle for dignity and freedom.

The Palestinian flags and slogans rejecting the aggression and calling for a boycott that filled the streets of Paris today carry a clear message from the French people and their union movement: Palestine is not alone.”
