Foreign Minister and Military Leaders Meet “Eternity” Ship Crew

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer, along with Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Ali Al-Moshki, Commander of the Naval and Coastal Defense Forces Major General Mohammed Fadhl, Commander of the Coastal Defense Forces Major General Mohammed Al-Qadiri, and Member of the Political Bureau of Ansar Allah Dhaifallah Al-Shami, today met with the crew of the “Eternity C” ship who were rescued from drowning in the Red Sea.

During the meeting, Minister Amer and the military leaders reassured the ship’s crew that they are safe, affirming the keenness to take care of them as guests of Yemen, considering that they were exploited to carry out this mission.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said: “The directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, stipulate that all people should be viewed as human beings without discrimination, especially in humanitarian aspects.”

He added: “We have been continuously following the crew’s condition since they were rescued in the Red Sea after the ship, which violated laws affecting our security in Yemen, was targeted, to ensure your safety and proper medical treatment. This, of course, is in line with our leadership’s emphasis on preserving human dignity regardless of religion, ideology, or nationality.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates pointed out that the ship’s crew contacted their families to reassure them, explaining that the crew is a victim just like the Palestinian people in Gaza, who have become victims of global arrogance, American hegemony, and Zionist expansionist ambitions.

He touched on what is happening in Gaza in terms of killing, whether by military force, starvation, preventing the entry of food, or depriving people of medicine. He said: “Perhaps you have seen the suffering of the Palestinian people and sensed it during the hours of your own suffering before and during your rescue from the sea.”

He added: “Therefore, you may now sense how Islam views human beings and how the Zionists view them—there is a great difference, as you have experienced the level of treatment and cooperation from the Yemeni Armed Forces, even though they themselves are suffering and are always being targeted by Zionism. Yet in the end, they made a real distinction between how to deal with human beings and an enemy we confront face to face.”

Minister Amer noted that the ship’s crew had never heard of high-ranking military leaders such as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff and the Commander of the Air Forces being present with the crew to provide care for them, and that this has not been witnessed before. This reflects the true Yemeni approach toward the entire world.

He addressed the ship’s crew, saying: “Rest assured that our care for you will continue, and we understand the ordeal you went through as a result of being exploited and the suffering you experienced during the targeting of the ship by the Yemeni Armed Forces.”

During the meeting, explanations were heard from a number of crew members of the ship, which violated the decision prohibiting dealings with occupied ports, and their motives for risking this journey to the port of “Eilat” and not responding to the warnings of the Yemeni Naval Forces, in addition to the suffering of the crew until they were rescued and evacuated from the ship.

The ship’s crew expressed their gratitude for the level of care and attention they received since their rescue, as well as for being given the opportunity to contact their families and reassure them of their condition.
