Deputy Prime Minister: Yemen Has Become the “Leading Banner” for the Oppressed

The First Deputy Prime Minister, Allama Mohammed Muftah, has asserted that Yemen has become the leading nation in supporting the oppressed people of the world.

Speaking at a conference for Yemeni scholars in Sana’a, Allama Muftah said, “Yemen is no longer an unknown; it is now known as the bearer of the banner in confronting the tyrants and pharaohs of our time.”

He added, “The Muslim nation looks to Yemen and its scholars, and what is happening in Yemen. Your presence as scholars, with your efforts and your leading role in supporting Palestine, Gaza, and the persecuted and oppressed, is the presence of the soul of a nation that looks to Sana’a and its honorable stance.”

He continued, “Our position expresses our consciences, hopes, and aspirations. God has honored us with a great position and a wise leader to represent the nation in supporting the oppressed and the vulnerable on Earth, especially in Palestine, who are being subjected to the most heinous genocide.”

Allama Muftah noted that Islam and faith are present in the hearts of Yemenis and that what is happening is an Islamic revival and an awakening for Muslims in all countries, regardless of the media blackout. Addressing the scholars, he said, “You bear the responsibility of awareness, jurisprudence, guidance, and direction. You have the honor in this, and it motivates us in our work, no matter how busy we are, to make our work in obedience to God for guidance, instruction, fatwa, awareness, and education.”

The First Deputy Prime Minister also called on scholars around the world to criminalize Zionism and its leaders, stating that the Zionist system has committed the most heinous crimes against humanity for a century and carries a project of corruption on Earth and moral decay for humanity.

He explained that the inaction of Arab and Islamic regimes toward what is happening in Gaza is for the sake of Zionism and serves the Zionist agenda. He considered this a “disgrace” for the silent elites and for scholars who remain silent  on the matter.
