Interior Minister Discusses Security Plan For Prophet’s Birthday Commemorations

An expanded security meeting was held today at the Ministry of Interior, chaired by Interior Minister Major General Abdulkarim Amiruddin Al-Houthi, to discuss arrangements and the security plan for securing the events commemorating the Prophet’s Birthday in the capital, Sana’a, and other governorates.

The meeting, attended by Deputy Interior Minister Major General Abdulmajid Al-Murtada and the Ministry’s Inspector General Major General Abdullah Al-Hadi, reviewed the details of the comprehensive security plan to secure celebration venues and participating delegations, the tasks assigned to various security units, and the coordination mechanisms between them and military units to ensure the success and smooth conduct of the events as required.

In his opening directive speech, the Interior Minister noted that the occasion of the Prophet’s Birthday comes this year with blessings, goodness, and victories, affirming that the Yemeni people are engaged in the most honorable battle against God’s fiercest enemies—the Zionists, Americans, and their allies—and that our country’s principled stance toward the Palestinian cause and the oppression in Gaza will remain steadfast until God’s command is fulfilled.

He explained that this stage requires an understanding of the magnitude and gravity of the conflict, and that Yemenis stand in confrontation with the world’s criminals, emphasizing that the enemy is accustomed to deceit and trickery, attempting to target the people internally by stirring discord and confusion. Here, the pivotal role of security personnel emerges, along with the need to heighten vigilance and readiness.

The Minister stressed that reliance on God and trust in Him is the fundamental pillar in thwarting the enemy’s plans, noting that a constant connection with God and confidence in Him represent the guarantee of victory and honor.

He added that security personnel, while performing their duties, must feel they are in a position of serving the people, ensuring their safety and treating them with compassion and kindness.

He emphasized the importance of security personnel embodying compassion among themselves, alongside strength and resolve in confronting enemies, citing God Almighty’s words: “Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and those with him are severe against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves.”

He added that severity against enemies requires continuous preparation in all fields, including the security domain and the battle of awareness, while compassion is required in serving and caring for citizens.

The Interior Minister pointed out that the Yemeni people are distinguished, by God’s grace, in their commemoration of this great occasion, affirming that this year’s crowds will be larger and more extensive than in previous years, which requires doubling security and organizational efforts to facilitate the entry and exit of the masses and secure them optimally.

He also called on citizens to cooperate with security personnel in organizing the events and regulating traffic, praising the significant cooperation shown by the Yemeni community with security agencies during various occasions and circumstances.
