Official Inaugurates Program to Swap Old Gas Cylinders for New, Local Ones in Yemen

First Deputy Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Muftah, along with Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir and Acting Executive Director of the Yemeni Gas Company Yasser Al-Wahidi, launched a program today to replace damaged and worn-out domestic gas cylinders with refurbished, tradeable ones for citizens.

During the inauguration, Muftah highlighted that the program is part of the safety measures implemented by the Yemeni Gas Company to localize the manufacturing of gas cylinders in Yemen. He explained that the program is crucial for protecting citizens from the risks and damages caused by old and damaged gas cylinders. Muftah praised the company’s efforts in implementing these quality programs and its work to replace all damaged cylinders. He also noted that the company had distributed free gas cylinders to the families of martyrs last year in coordination with the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs’ Families. Muftah also commended the company for stabilizing the gas supply and ensuring its continuous availability, urging citizens to cooperate to facilitate the company’s work.

For his part, the Minister of Oil and Minerals stated that the program’s launch aligns with the directives of the revolution’s leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council, and is part of the “Government of Construction and Change” program aimed at replacing imported products with local ones. He added that the program plans to distribute 57,000 locally manufactured cylinders across all free provinces, including 10,000 cylinders in the capital secretariat. He praised the gas company’s efforts to maintain and replace damaged cylinders to reduce accidents and ensure public safety.

The Acting Executive Director of the Yemeni Gas Company, Yasser Al-Wahidi, said that the program’s launch is in line with the revolutionary and political leadership’s directives and the “Government of Construction and Change” program to replace damaged cylinders with locally refurbished ones to protect citizens’ lives and property. He explained that the replacement process involves collecting citizens’ damaged cylinders in their districts and then replacing them with maintained ones free of charge. He called on citizens to use gas cylinders safely and to avoid rolling or throwing them to protect lives and property.

The inauguration was attended by the Acting Executive Director of the Yemen Oil Company, Mohammed Al-Lakoumi, and several other officials and specialists from the Yemeni Gas Company.
