WFP: Aid to Gaza a “Drop in the Ocean” Amid Worsening Famine

The World Food Program warned last night that the aid “Israel” allows to enter Gaza is still a “drop in the ocean” of what is needed, just days after the UN officially declared famine in the Strip.

According to Carl Skau, the WFP’s Deputy Executive Director, speaking to AFP, there has been a “slight increase” in aid entry over the past two weeks, with about 100 trucks per day. However, he explained that this amount “is still a drop in the ocean when we’re talking about helping around 2.1 million people.”

He added that “a completely different level of aid is needed to reverse the course of this famine.”
