Yemeni Community in Germany Condemns Desecration of Holy Qur’an

The Yemeni community in Germany strongly condemned the deliberate and public desecration of a copy of the Holy Qur’an by a Senate candidate, describing the act as an inciting, hostile behavior used for electoral propaganda that offends Muslims’ religious and human dignity.

In a statement, the community said the act constitutes a hate crime and a racist offense that violates international laws and conventions, undermines social coexistence, and damages interfaith dialogue. It stressed that such actions do not fall under legitimate freedom of expression, but amount to incitement to religious hatred.

The community called on the United Nations to condemn all forms of insults to the Qur’an and religious sanctities, urged the enactment of international legislation criminalizing such acts, and demanded legal accountability for those responsible, without using freedom of expression as a pretext.
