Hundreds of settlers defile Aqsa Mosque under police protection

Dozens of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday morning and later in the afternoon.

According to local sources, at least 508 settlers entered the Mosque in groups through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards under tight police guard in the morning.

Footage circulated on the internet in the morning showed settlers waiving Israeli flags and others wearing white T-shirts bearing the Israeli flag without any intervention by the police officers who escorted them.

Some settlers were seen dancing, singing, and loudly reciting religious verses in the Mosque’s courtyards, while others performed full prostrations, pressing their bodies flat against the ground.

Local sources said that the Israeli occupation police imposed entry and movement restrictions on Palestinian worshipers who flocked to the Mosque from different areas of Jerusalem and 1948 occupied Palestine during the presence of settlers at the holy site.
