6 civilians killed in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon

At least six people were martyred in Israeli airstrikes on the towns of Choukine and Meifdoun in southern Lebanon, marking an ongoing breach of the temporary ceasefire agreement.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, three residents from the town of Choukine, one from Meifdoun, and two Syrians were martyred in Israeli warplane airstrikes targeting Choukine in the Nabatieh district this afternoon.

Since March 2, Israeli occupation forces have intensified military operations across Lebanon, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure. The escalation has resulted in thousands of casualties and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million civilians.

A ceasefire agreement took effect in mid-April; however, occupation forces have continued to carry out daily violations, undermining efforts to stabilize the region and protect civilians.

The developments highlight ongoing risks to civilian populations and raise concerns over compliance with ceasefire commitments, prompting calls for international action.
