Local sources in Sirik and Qeshm, southern Iran, reported hearing several explosions.
The Fars News Agency quoted these sources on Sunday as saying that four explosions were heard around 12:30 a.m. on the shores and coastal areas of Taheruyeh in Sirik.
Residents of Qeshm Island also reported hearing explosions in the same area. The exact location and source of these explosions remain unknown.
The agency added, in a follow-up report, that several explosions were heard in the Kuhstak area and towards the sea.
Initial investigations indicate that the Sirik maritime area and a communications tower were targeted.
