The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and head of the Iranian negotiating delegation, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, said on Sunday that American threats “have not achieved results,” indicating that his country does not give any consideration to these threats.
Qalibaf added in a post on the “X” platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): “Do they not think to themselves that if their threats had achieved any result, they would not have reached the state of incapacity they are in today?” He stressed: “We do not give any consideration to American threats.”
He explained: “It would be better for them to watch their statements, as our armed forces are ready to respond to them in another way. No matter how much they talk, we are the ones who act and do.”
In the same context, a source close to the negotiating team told Iran’s Fars News Agency that “the Iranian negotiating delegation left the negotiation site in protest over Trump’s threats.”
An informed source had previously told Fars that Trump’s threat halted the Switzerland negotiations and cast ambiguity over their continuation.
