Lebanese Civil Defence recovers 13 bodies in southern Lebanon

The Lebanese Civil Defence announced that it had removed thirteen remains from the rubble in the Nabatiyah and Marjayoun areas of southern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), the General Directorate of Civil Defense said in a statement its teams also reopened main and secondary roads in the Nabatiyah region, as well as in the localities of Debbine and Blat in Marjayoun.

In a related development, search and rescue teams recovered the bodies of 13 victims from beneath the rubble. Specialized crews also worked to ensure public safety and remove hazards caused by the shelling.

Lebanese Civil Defense personnel continue to carry out humanitarian and relief operations in response to citizens’ calls for assistance, despite difficult field conditions and ongoing challenges, the statement added.

Since March 2, Israeli occupation forces have intensified their military campaign in Lebanon, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure across the country.

According to Lebanese sources, the attacks have resulted in thousands of casualties and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million Lebanese residents.
