A Palestinian was killed and another critically injured on Sunday in separate Israeli attacks in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported, citing medical sources.
According to the sources, Zaki Mohammad Al-Qarra, 30, was shot dead by Israeli army fire near the Bani Suheila roundabout east of Khan Younis.
The same sources added that another Palestinian sustained critical injuries after an Israeli drone strike targeted an area in western Khan Younis.
With Al-Qarra’s murder, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire took effect on October 11 of last year has risen to 984, while the number of injuries remains at 3,122, according to local reports. A total of 783 bodies have also been recovered during the same period.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 72,993 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 173,230 others injured, according to local health authorities.
