Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla stated on Saturday that Cuban children are direct victims of the U.S. economic blockade and the hostile policies pursued by Washington against his country.
In a post on the platform “X,” monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Rodríguez said that “the fuel embargo and the intensified blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba constitute a harsh and arbitrary collective punishment that causes deaths in our country, especially among infants.”
He added that “examples include the rise in infant mortality rates from 4.0 to 9.9 per 1,000 live births, and the decline in survival rates for children with cancer from 85% to 65%.”
Rodríguez called for an end to what he described as U.S. aggression against his country, saying: “Let Cuba’s children live and grow in peace.”
