Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iraq is preparing, alongside Iran, to hold mass funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, describing it as a historic event that will strengthen ties between the two countries.
He noted he met senior Iraqi leaders during his visit to Baghdad and discussed the preparations.
Iraqi government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi said Iraq has approved Iran’s request to hold ceremonies on July 8 in Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimiya, and Samarra.
