Israeli “National Security Minister” Itamar Ben-Gvir, along with groups of settlers, stormed Silwan on Tuesday evening, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces.

Al-Quds sources said occupation forces closed roads leading to Bab al-Asbat and Ras al-Amud due to settlers entering a nearby cemetery.

Bab al-Rahma and other Islamic cemeteries near Al-Aqsa have repeatedly faced settler incursions, vandalism, and grave desecration under police protection, alongside ongoing attempts to impose Judaization projects in the area.

Silwan, located adjacent to the Old City and surrounding Al-Aqsa from the south, remains a frequent target of settlement expansion and demographic change efforts.
