An Israeli settler was seriously wounded Thursday morning in a stabbing attack near the illegal settlement of Alon Moreh, east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, Israeli Army Radio reported on Thursday.
According to Hebrew media cited by Palestine Online, Israeli forces went on high alert immediately after the attack in the vicinity of the settlement.
The sources said Israeli troops opened fire at two Palestinian men at the scene.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, two Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire during a military induction into the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus.
Sources from the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that two men, aged 43 and 40, sustained live-bullet injuries to the abdomen and were transferred to a hospital for treatment.
Local sources said Israeli forces stormed the town and opened live fire at residents, resulting in the injuries.
Following the incident, the Israeli military imposed a security cordon around the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus.
Israel’s Channel 12 identified the wounded settler as Itamar Cohen, describing him as a prominent figure in Israel’s pastoral settlement movement in the occupied West Bank.
