Two Palestinians were killed early Monday when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at them during a violent settler attack on the town of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah in the West Bank.
The Palestinian health ministry identified the martyrs as Awda Farakhneh, 53, and Ahmad Abu Makho, 26.
Earlier, medical sources reported that three citizens were seriously wounded in the IOF-settler attack on the town.
According to local sources, Israeli forces and settlers launched their attack on the town after midnight on Monday.
Local sources said Israeli forces not only provided cover for the settlers but also directly targeted an ambulance that was attempting to evacuate the wounded from the town.
In a separate incident, settlers set fire to vast tracts of farmland in the Khillet al-Qateel area of Beit Dajan town, east of Nablus. Local residents attempted to contain the blaze despite facing threats and harassment from armed settlers.
