At least four people were killed and 20 others injured in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon on Sunday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said.
In a statement, the ministry said the casualties included two people killed and two others injured in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, as well as eight injured, including a woman and a girl, in Nabatieh’s Rahabat neighborhood, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
The ministry added that two women were killed and six people were injured, including two girls, in Arab Salim, while four women were injured in Kfar Roummane.
Earlier, the Israeli army said its strikes on southern Lebanon early Sunday came in response to the launch by Lebanon’s Hezbollah of two drones toward Israeli soldiers stationed in part of an area the army had declared a “security zone.”
The occupation army had previously issued an evacuation warning to residents near a building in the southern Lebanese town of Arab Salim, saying it would target the building over alleged use by Hezbollah.
Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of explosions and airstrikes on several areas across southern Lebanon on Sunday.
