The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the targeting by Saudi enemy aircraft today of the Taiz Central Market for the sale of agricultural products, considering that a crime against a civilian and vital facility linked to the livelihood of citizens.
The ministry affirmed in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that targeting markets and civilian facilities is added to the record of crimes committed by the Saudi enemy against the Yemeni people throughout previous years, and reveals a deliberate approach to destroying the components of life and targeting facilities linked to food production and the national economy, and harming farmers, producers, traders and citizens.
The statement considered that targeting a market for agricultural products represents an attack on the agricultural production and marketing system, and an attempt to harm efforts to enhance local production and food security, affirming that these attacks will not deter farmers and workers in the agricultural sector from continuing production and steadfastness.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources renewed its affirmation of continuing to support farmers and producers and enhance local production, despite the targeting and damage to which the agricultural sector is subjected.
