The US Air Force announced that an F-35 fighter jet crashed north of Las Vegas, Nevada, confirming that the pilot ejected safely and sustained minor injuries.
The Russian news agency Sputnik quoted the Air Force on Wednesday as saying, “Today, an F-35 fighter jet from Nellis Air Force Base crashed north of Las Vegas.”
The statement continued, “The incident occurred approximately 25 miles northeast of Indian Springs, Nevada, within the Nevada Test and Training Range.”
The Air Force added that “emergency services are already on the scene, and there is no threat to populated areas,” noting that “the pilot is safe and is being treated for minor injuries.”
