Iran Warns of expanded targeting if US threats are carried out

Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, warned of the repercussions of any potential attack on Iranian infrastructure, in response to the US president’s statements and repeated threats to target bridges, power plants, and vital facilities.

In a statement carried by the Iranian news agency Tasnim early Saturday morning, Zolfaghari emphasized that carrying out these threats would be met with a broad response. He indicated that the Iranian Armed Forces would not limit their response to targeting “American and Israeli” interests in the energy, fuel, economic, and power sectors in the region and the occupied territories, but would expand their operations to include more significant and far-reaching targets.

He added that the response could also extend to the interests of countries hosting US military bases or allied with “Washington and Tel Aviv,” stressing that any military action against Iran would be met with “more severe and decisive” measures.

The Iranian military official called on countries hosting US bases in the region to work towards ending the presence of these forces on their soil, to avoid potential repercussions and damage should tensions escalate.

On February 28, the US and Israel launched a new aggression against Iran, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and targeting schools, hospitals, mosques, and other infrastructure belonging to the Iranian people.

In response to the aggression, Iran launched Operation True Promise 4 against Israel and US bases in the region.
