European Commissioner: Palestinian Refugees in Lebanese Camps Living in Extremely Difficult Conditions

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - AUGUST 29: Belgium Minister of Foreign, European Affairs and Foreign Trade Hadja Lahbib talks to media prior to the start of an Informal meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in the Europa Building on August 29; 2024 in Brussels, Belgium. Due to the Hungarian Prime Minister's controversial trips to Moscow and Beijing, the 'Gymnish' is being held in Brussels and not in Budapest as a "symbolic signal" to the Hungarian Presidency of the EU. These trips, as well as declarations clearly contrary to the common line displayed by the EU since the start of the war in Ukraine, disrupted the start of the 6 months of Hungarian presidency. The European Commissioner for Crisis Management and Humanitarian Aid, Haja Habib, confirmed on Saturday that Palestinian refugees in camps in Lebanon are living amidst the war and suffering extremely difficult conditions as a result of the Israeli aggression against the country.

In a post on the “X” platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the European Commissioner said: “Today I visited the Mar Elias camp, a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, located in the midst of the war.”
