Tourism minister visits Yemeni Heritage, Research Center, Yemeni Women’s Forum

Minister of Culture in the caretaker government Abdullah al-Kabsi and Undersecretary for the Manuscripts Sector Hamdi al-Razehi on Tuesday visited the Yemeni Heritage and Research Center and the Yemeni Women’s Forum in the capital Sana’a.

During the visit, minister al-Kabsi listened to an explanation from member of the Center’s Board of Directors Abdulrahman al-Marwani a detailed explanation about the establishment of the Center, the stages of its development, and its most important scientific and cultural publications.

The minister and the undersecretary toured the center’s departments and wings, which were filled with many scientific and cultural books.

They also listened to an explanation of the work of the Yemeni Women Forum, which was founded in 2016 by Islamic thinker Zaid bin Ali al-Wazir.

A number of forum members provided information about the forum, its objectives and its message, which aims to define the status of women in Islam and in contemporary society.

Al-Kabsi expressed his happiness to visit such a large cultural institution that remained steadfast in the darkest and most difficult circumstances, especially the years of aggression and steadfastness.

He stressed the Ministry of Culture’s keenness to support these cultural centers and institutions and provide assistance according to available capabilities, calling on everyone to support these leading institutions to carry out their enlightening role in a way that contributes to achieving the renaissance of Yemen.
