Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi met today with Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Dr. Ali Saif, Deputy Minister Adel Badr, and senior officials, including the heads of the General Corporation for Electrical Industries and the Public Electricity Corporation.
The meeting focused on the emergency plan prepared by the Ministry and its affiliated agencies to address the current challenges in the electricity sector.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the damage caused by Israeli aggression, which led to the complete destruction and shutdown of the Dhabhan and Haziz central power stations, as well as damage to Asr and Jadar substations.
Despite the destruction, the ministry—through the Public Electricity Corporation—has implemented measures to restore services and resume electricity supply.
Al-Rahwi commended the efforts of the technical teams for their swift response and deployment of alternative emergency solutions, despite the widespread damage.
He stressed that all damage can be repaired and compensated, thanks to the capable and experienced personnel within the ministry and its institutions.
He underscored that strong will and determination remain key to overcoming the destruction caused by the ongoing aggression, which has persisted since March 2015.
During his field visit to the Dhabhan and Haziz stations, Al-Rahwi inspected the extent of the damage and destruction caused by Israeli aggression.
In a media statement, Al-Rahwi said that the visit revealed the devastating effects of the hatred, arrogance, and criminal brutality demonstrated by the Zionist enemy in its aggression against both Yemen and the Gaza Strip.
He reaffirmed that Yemen—its leadership, government, and people—will remain steadfast in their support for Gaza, regardless of the consequences, motivated by religious, moral, and humanitarian values.
Al-Rahwi emphasized that all infrastructure destroyed by the aggression will be rebuilt and restored.
He praised the Ministry of Electricity’s rapid response, while also recognizing the efforts of other sectors—including health, environment, transport, public works, oil, and minerals—in minimizing the impact of the attacks.
He concluded by saying: “No matter how the enemies conspire against us, we will never retreat from supporting Gaza until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted.”
