Two Palestinian siblings died Friday evening after a prolonged illness that was worsened by malnutrition in recent months, a result of the suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian SANA news agency, medical sources confirmed the deaths of the siblings, Mahmoud Suhail Al-Dabba (16) and Hanan Suhail Al-Dabba (25), at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.
The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip previously released a statement noting a steady increase in the number of deaths from malnutrition since 2023, indicating a 35-fold increase.
These figures reflect the systematic crime committed against civilians in Gaza by the Israeli military, which uses starvation as a weapon of war.
In recent days, there has been a significant rise in deaths from malnutrition, turning the bodies of both children and adults into skeletal figures. Cases of fainting among many Gazans have also increased as hunger intensifies amid the severe food scarcity.
Last Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced that the total number of victims of starvation had risen to 239, including 106 children, not counting the two latest cases.
