Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call on Sunday with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot.
According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, Araghchi briefed the French foreign minister on the latest developments related to the ceasefire and ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the imposed war, stressing the importance of European countries playing a constructive role in supporting diplomatic initiatives.
For his part, the French foreign minister reiterated his country’s support for continued diplomatic engagement, expressing hope that ongoing dialogue would contribute to establishing peace in the region.
Both foreign ministers emphasized the need to continue bilateral consultations, as well as coordination with other regional parties.
