The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that it has intercepted and transferred two violating vessels to Iranian territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz as part of its ongoing maritime security operations, The Iranian “Tasnim” news agency reported.
The IRGC Navy said in a statement that, as part of its smart control of the Strait of Hormuz, it has identified and stopped two vessels on Wednesday morning.
The vessels were identified as the “MSC-FRANCESCA,” reportedly linked to the Zionist regime, and the “EPAMINODES,” both of which were operating without authorization, repeatedly violating regulations, and manipulating navigation aid systems in a way that endangered maritime safety.
The statement noted that the ships were attempting to exit the Strait of Hormuz covertly when they were detected by IRGC Navy units and intercepted in line with safeguarding the rights of the Iranian nation in the strategic waterway.
The statement added that the vessels have now been transferred to Iranian territorial waters for inspection of their cargo, documents, and related records.
The IRGC Navy further emphasized that any attempt to disrupt Iran’s declared regulations for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, or engage in activities contrary to safe navigation in this strategic route, will be met with firm and legal action following full monitoring and assessment.
