The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of three paramedics and the serious injury of a fourth on Friday, following an Israeli enemy airstrike targeting a health center in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon.
In a statement published by Lebanon’s National News Agency, the ministry said: “The Israeli enemy directly targeted the Health Authority – Civil Defense center in Harouf, Nabatieh district, resulting in the martyrdom of three paramedics, the critical injury of a fourth paramedic, and the complete destruction of the center.”
The ministry considered that “this crime is additional evidence of the brutal approach adopted by the occupying Israeli enemy, flouting international humanitarian law and exploiting the silence of the international community to multiply crimes against humanity.”
The statement continued: “The Ministry of Public Health reiterates its condemnation and denunciation of this ongoing series of attacks, affirming that it will continue to raise its voice and will not remain silent about all these barbaric assaults.”
Since March 2nd of last year, the Israeli enemy has escalated its criminal aggression against Lebanon, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure, resulting in thousands of martyrs and wounded, and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million Lebanese citizens.
A temporary ceasefire agreement came into effect in mid-April of last year, yet the Israeli enemy army continues to commit daily violations of the agreement.
