Syria: Israeli enemy incursions near town of Jamlah in Yarmouk Basin area

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Wednesday that two Merkava tanks belonging to Israeli enemy forces, accompanied by two military vehicles, advanced along the Wadi al Raqad al Awwal road near the town of Jamlah in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa.

The observatory added that the Israeli military force advanced a limited distance into the area, amid sudden field movements observed near the contact lines, before positioning itself for a period along the roadside.

This incursion comes as tensions persist in the southern region, with repeated movements of Israeli forces in the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra, raising residents’ fears of a potential escalation in the border area.

The observatory pointed out that Israeli forces established a military checkpoint northwest of the town of Khan Arnabeh in the northern countryside of Quneitra, specifically in the Al Hafayer area, amid ongoing military movements in the border region.

It explained that the checkpoint was set up with the participation of two military vehicles and more than ten Israeli personnel, who positioned themselves in the area to monitor roads and surrounding movements.

This comes as Israeli movements and incursions continue in the Quneitra countryside, alongside flights and mobilization observed in areas near the separation line, further alarming residents about a possible new escalation in the region.
