The Yemeni Parliament renewed its warning to the countries involved in the aggression coalition and their affiliated mercenaries against aligning with plans aimed at targeting Yemen’s national resources or taking any measures that undermine the country’s sovereignty.
In a statement, the parliament specifically condemned the recent Saudi announcement regarding a so-called memorandum of understanding project between the Saudi Geological Survey and the pro-aggression government, warning that such measures pose serious risks to Yemen’s sovereign wealth and natural resources.
The parliament stressed the importance of preserving Yemen’s sovereignty and its full rights over national resources, describing the issue as a non-negotiable priority.
It considered the agreements and procedures null and illegal, arguing that they falsely assume the official authority of the Geological Survey body based in the capital, Sana’a.
It called on the relevant authorities to take deterrent measures against those impersonating official institutions and to put an end to violations committed by coalition countries seeking to impose control over Yemen’s sovereignty and expand regional and international interference in Yemeni affairs.
Parliament Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i urged all parties to strengthen national unity, raise public awareness and vigilance, and seize the “historic moment” to preserve Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and stability.
He linked these efforts to achievements and victories realized under leader of the revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi and the country’s political leadership.
Al-Ra’i described the memorandum of understanding as an illegal procedure issued by parties that do not represent Yemen, emphasizing that geological data falls within Yemen’s economic national security framework.
He also stressed the need to establish future legislative frameworks for managing and analyzing data related to Yemen’s mineral and natural wealth in order to prevent looting and misuse.
He called on Yemenis to unite in confronting conspiracies targeting the country, while also urging parliamentary committees to accelerate completion of their assigned duties.
