Abu Obeida, the spokesman for al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, has applauded the Syrian citizens who confronted Israeli forces in the village of Abdin in southern Syria with simple means, describing them as “courageous people.”
“They stood firm, refusing to yield to aggression or accept the presence of Israeli occupation on their land,” Abu Obeida said in a brief statement released on Monday.
“Israel’s aggression against Syria is part of its war on Palestine, Lebanon, and other peoples of the region in an attempt to impose the malicious ‘Greater Israel’ project and create new faits accomplis at the expense of our nations and countries,” Abu Obeida added.
He called on the Muslim Ummah’s peoples from all spectra to resist Israel’s schemes in the region and thwart them before they expand and become impossible to stop.
