Western Daraa in southern Syria witnessed two separate Israeli incursions into the Yarmouk Basin area on Friday, during which temporary checkpoints were set up, houses were searched, and civilians were questioned before the forces withdrew to occupied territories.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said an “Israeli” patrol of two vehicles entered via Tel Abu al-Ghithar toward Wadi al-Raqqad, briefly set up a checkpoint near the Jomlah post, then withdrew.
It added that another force of seven vehicles entered the village of Ma’riya, set up a checkpoint near a mosque for about half an hour, searched houses, and questioned residents before leaving the area.
The report said such incursions have become recurring in western Daraa countryside, often involving temporary checkpoints and searches.
