Former EU Foreign Policy Chief: Threats & pressure will not work with Iran

Former EU foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, affirmed that pressure and threats are not effective in dealing with Iran.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency on Wednesday, Mogherini stated: “Iranians are highly skilled negotiators, both technically and diplomatically.”

She added: “Tehran is committed to its obligations, but has not fully benefited from the economic advantages of the nuclear agreement due to the U.S. withdrawal.”

Mogherini also noted that “the Iranian negotiating team has a clear edge thanks to its technical expertise and historical memory. Mere pressure and threats will not be effective with Iran.”
