Yemen’s Supreme Political Council said any response to the Saudi aggression and blockade would be direct and proportionate, in line with the deterrence equations announced by the leader of the revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi in his latest speech on Thursday.
In a statement, the council stressed that the Yemeni people’s rights to sovereignty, freedom, operating vital facilities, and exploiting the country’s national resources are sovereign rights that are not open to negotiation.
It said Saudi Arabia’s attempts to impose tutelage and domination serve the US-Zionist project aimed at subjugating the region and targeting its independent forces.
The council considered the Saudi attack on Sana’a International Airport as a new crime in the record of aggression, saying it was intended to deprive Yemenis of their basic right to travel and seek medical treatment.
It called on people in Sana’a and other provinces to participate in mass rallies on Friday under the slogan “Friday of Warning and Mobilization,” in response to the call of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to demonstrate Yemen’s determination to defend its freedom, dignity, and continue confronting the aggression and breaking the blockade.
The statement condemned the continued Saudi aggression and blockade, holding the Saudi regime fully responsible for their consequences and the repercussions of their continuation.
The council also renewed its commitment to the Yemeni people, pledging to continue defending Yemen’s sovereignty, independence, and freedom, and to pursue the country’s legitimate rights until the blockade is lifted and the aggression comes to an end.
