Russian President Arrives in Beijing at Start of Official Visit to China

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on Tuesday at the start of an official visit to China.

According to Sputnik News Agency, the visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation between Russia and China.

The main agenda of the visit is scheduled to begin on Wednesday with an official reception ceremony for the Russian delegation at Beijing’s central Tiananmen Square, followed by talks between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People.

Following the meeting, the two sides are expected to sign joint documents, and the two presidents will deliver statements to the media.

Later, Putin and Xi Jinping will participate in the opening ceremony of the Russia-China Years of Educational Cooperation.

The Russian president’s visit program also includes a separate meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang to discuss prospects for trade and economic cooperation.
