Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, received a private handwritten letter on Sunday afternoon from Pakistani officials addressed to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
The letter was delivered by Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, during a meeting between the two officials in Tehran.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Naqvi handed Araghchi a written letter from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed to Sayyed Khamenei.
The Ministry added that during the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan, and exchanged views on the latest developments in the ongoing diplomatic process to end the US-Israeli war on Iran.
Earlier, the Pakistani minister expressed the great importance of the letter he was carrying, saying he hoped that things would go well and reach their desired conclusion within the framework of exchanging important files between Islamabad and Tehran.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister, whose country is mediating between the Islamic Republic and the United States to end the war, had previously made two visits to the Iranian capital in late May, during which he met with Araghchi.
